Our mission is to...

INSPIRE people to abide deeply in Jesus & live missionally in the world

CONNECT individuals to Missional Communities & Fellowship Bands

Equip communities & individuals to follow Jesus' way of life

Multiply communities throughout the STL region

Inspire

Our desire is to inspire people to abide deeply in Jesus and live missionally in the world, which we call "missional discipleship". We believe Jesus longs to draw people into a living relationship with him in all facets of life, and also that Jesus, through his Spirit, invites us to see our everyday life as a mission field, joining his redemptive work in the world.

connect

Our STL church plant will help connect individuals to Missional Communities and/or Fellowship Bands. We believe people are inspired to pursue a life of missional discipleship in community. In fact, our conviction is that disciples of Jesus cannot flourish outside of authentic Christian community.

Fellowship Band

Fellowship bands are small groups of three or four close friends who meet regularly for spiritual conversation. Band meetings help us become more committed followers of Jesus, who grow in his likeness from the inside out. They encourage us to keep in step with his Spirit, as whole-life disciples and everyday missionaries.

Missional Community

Missional Communities are communities of disciples (8-20 people) that gather in homes as extended families, sharing life's ups and downs together: by eating and praying together, searching the scriptures and sharing wisdom, and helping each other grow as whole-life disciples and everyday missionaries.

Equip

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life" (Jn 14:6). Our church will equip individuals to follow Jesus' way of life through Missional Communities and Fellowship Bands. Our vision of discipleship comes from the Inspire Movement, which helps people follow Jesus' way of life by pursuing four core values:

  • Seeking growth in the love of God and neighbor

  • Using disciplines as a means for connecting with Jesus

  • Sharing fellowship with others on the journey

  • Engaging mission to the least and lost

Following Jesus' way of life is about both imitation and intimacy. In other words, discipleship to Jesus is not only about doing the things Jesus did but a life spent with Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Multiply

We will grow the church organically through multiplication of both Missional Communities and Fellowship Bands. The founder of the early Methodist movement, John Wesley, believed,"The gospel spreads heart to heart, house to house, and town to town" (Sermon 63, ‘The General Spread of the Gospel’). The church spreads organically through the lives of Christians. We want to cultivate an inside-out disciple-making movement, which ultimately will create a wider network of small church communities that gather and scatter throughout St. Louis. We will have network gatherings (once a month) to help cast vision, celebrate what God is doing, and worship with one another as one body.

We are part of a wider network called the Inspire Movement, which is an international discipleship movement. We have worked alongside the Movement since 2018; now serving on the USA Core Team as well as Missioners for the Movement. Our church plant will use Inspire principles, such as their vision for Missional Discipleship, Fellowship Band, and House Fellowship.
